Public urged to share information on suspect’s associates and activities amid ongoing extortion investigations
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) has publicly released a photograph of Prabhjot Singh, a 20-year-old foreign national, in an effort to gather information related to an ongoing extortion investigation impacting the region.
According to SPS, Prabhjot Singh was suspected of involvement in extortion-related criminal activities earlier in 2026. Following his arrest, police shared information with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), which led to an immigration investigation and his subsequent removal from Canada.
Authorities believe that releasing his image may help identify individuals connected to him, including associates, victims, or witnesses who may have valuable information. Police are particularly focused on dismantling networks involved in violent extortion schemes affecting local communities.
SPS is urging anyone with relevant information about Prabhjot Singh’s activities while in Canada to come forward. Tips can be reported by calling 604-599-0502, the Surrey Extortion Tip Line at 236-485-5149, or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
In response to the rising extortion crisis, a Surrey Extortion Reward Fund of $250,000 was established in September 2025. The fund aims to encourage individuals with critical information to assist authorities in securing charges and convictions against those responsible.
Police emphasize that community cooperation is essential in addressing and preventing further extortion-related violence.
