Kejriwal and Sisodia Set for New Residences in Key Lutyens Delhi Shuffle

In a major political development, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders Arvind Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia are set to move into new homes in Lutyens Delhi. This comes as part of a significant reshuffle following their release from prison and resignation from key positions in the Delhi government.

Kejriwal, who resigned as Delhi Chief Minister on September 17, will vacate his residence at the controversial 6, Flag Staff Road and move into 5, Firoz Shah Road, a government bungalow allotted to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal. Mittal, in a video statement, expressed joy in hosting Kejriwal, saying, “I am happy that he will stay with me, and I will get the opportunity to learn from him.”

Meanwhile, Manish Sisodia, who had been in jail since 2022, will shift from his previous residence at 32, Rajendra Prasad Road, another government property allotted to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Harbhajan Singh. His family will continue to live there, even though he remains embroiled in legal cases stemming from his tenure as Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister.

These movements are part of a larger transition in Delhi’s political corridors, happening just weeks after both leaders were released from prison. Kejriwal’s move has also stirred debates, with Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj commenting on the “irony” of a person like Kejriwal, who has governed the city for nearly a decade, having to move into a home that is not his own.

AAP spokespersons have refuted any controversy, pointing out that such housing transitions are routine and part of government regulations.

As of now, Kejriwal’s future in Delhi’s politics remains a subject of speculation, but his shift to Firoz Shah Road marks an important chapter in the ongoing reconfiguration of the AAP leadership.

ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ 17 ਸਤੰਬਰ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦੇ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਤੀਫਾ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿਵਾਦਪੂਰਨ ਘਰ 6, ਫਲੈਗ ਸਟਾਫ ਰੋਡ ਤੋਂ 5, ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਰੋਡ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਫਟ ਕਰਨ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਬੰਗਲਾ ਆਪ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਯ ਸਭਾ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਅਸ਼ੋਕ ਮਿਤਲ ਕੋਲ ਹੈ। ਮਿਤਲ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮਿੱਤਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ।

ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ, ਮਨੀਸ਼ ਸਿਸੋਦੀਆ, ਜੋ 2022 ਤੋਂ ਜੇਲ੍ਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਹੁਣ 32, ਰਾਜਿੰਦਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦ ਰੋਡ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ, ਜੋ ਰਾਜਯ ਸਭਾ ਸੰਸਦ ਮੈਂਬਰ ਹਰਭਜਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਅਲਾਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਕ ਮਾਮਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ॥

ਇਹ ਤਬਦੀਲੀਆਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਬਦਲਾਵਾਂ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਹਨ। ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਸੌਰਭ ਭਾਰਦਵਾਜ ਨੇ ਇਸ ਮੁੱਦੇ ‘ਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ, “ਇਹ ਇਕ ਇੱਤਰਾਜ ਹੈ । ਕਿ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜੋ ਦਸ ਸਾਲ ਤਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੀ ਕਮਾਨ ਸੰਭਾਲਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ । ਉਸਦਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਘਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ।”

ਆਪ ਦੇ ਬੁਲਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਮ ਤਬਦੀਲੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਵਿਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ।

ਕੇਜਰੀਵਾਲ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਈ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਉੱਠ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਫਿਰੋਜ਼ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਰੋਡ ’ਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਫਟ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਆਪ ਦੀ ਲੀਡਰਸ਼ਿਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਂ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਦੇ ਸੰਕੇਤ ਮਿਲਦੇ ਹਨ।
