Charges Approved in 2023 Drug Investigation in Prince George

The Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit conducted a significant drug investigation during the summer and fall of 2023. This operation targeted drug traffickers working in Prince George, executing multiple search warrants under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Residences in both Prince George and Langley were searched.
Sergeant Dan Morris, commander of the Street Crew Unit, stated, “This investigation clearly demonstrated that local drug traffickers are being supported by drug lines from the Lower Mainland, with connections to the B.C. Gang Conflict. We are confident that this will send a strong message to organized crime groups that there are consequences to importing fentanyl and other hard drugs into Prince George.”
The Public Prosecution Service of Canada has approved charges against the following individuals:
- Christine Melodie Poitras
- Participation in a Criminal Organization
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offense
- Trafficking in a controlled substance
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Lucas Benjamin Thiessen
- Instructing to commit a criminal organization offense
- Participation in a criminal organization
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offense
- Trafficking a controlled substance
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Maria Evangilia Nikolov
- Participation in a criminal organization
- Conspiracy to commit an indictable offense
- Trafficking in a controlled substance
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP, stated, “These types of interjurisdictional investigations present challenges for a municipal detachment that is separated by large distances from other police forces, as Prince George RCMP is. This showcases the excellent work done by our investigators, and we are supportive of the charge assessment provided by the Public Prosecution Service of Canada.”
Lucas Benjamin Thiessen remains in custody, while Christine Melodie Poitras and Maria Evangilia Nikolov are currently released with conditions. This case is now before the courts.

ਸਟਰੀਟ ਕਰਿਊ ਯੂਨਿਟ ਦੇ ਕਮਾਂਡਰ ਸਾਰਜੰਟ ਡੈਨ ਮੋਰਿਸ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਸ ਜਾਂਚ ਨੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਤਸਕਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੀ.ਸੀ. ਗੈਂਗ ਕਨਫਲਿਕਟ ਨਾਲ ਜੁੜੀਆਂ ਨੀਚਲੀ ਮੇਨਲੈਂਡ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਸ਼ਾ ਲਾਈਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਮਿਲ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ। ਅਸੀਂ ਯਕੀਨਨ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸ ਜੌਰਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਫੈਂਟੇਨੀਲ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਕਠੋਰ ਨਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਮਦ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਇੱਕ ਜ਼ਰੀਆ ਹੈ ।
ਕੈਨੇਡਾ ਦੀ ਪਬਲਿਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਸਿਕਿਊਸ਼ਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਨੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਦਿੱਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਨਜ਼ੂਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ:
