Preparations Complete for Annual Pioneer Run 2026; Special Heritage Ride to Depart on May 23
Abbotsford (Maheshinder Singh Mangat): Sikh Riders of Canada has announced that all preparations for the Annual Pioneer Run 2026 have been completed. The special heritage ride will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, with a large number of riders and community members expected to participate.
Organizers have extended an open invitation to everyone to join this meaningful event, which is dedicated to Sikh history, heritage, and community unity.
The ride will begin at 11:00 AM from Abbotsford Heritage Gurdwara. The group will then arrive at Gurdwara Sahib Sukh Sagar at 11:45 AM.
At 12:15 PM, participants will depart for the historic site at 319 Governors Court, New Westminster, associated with the Komagata Maru Incident, an important chapter in Canadian and Sikh history.
The journey will continue to Ross Gurdwara at 12:45 PM. At 1:30 PM, all riders and sangat will proceed to the Komagata Maru Memorial, where they will pay tribute to the pioneers, martyrs, and struggles of the Sikh community.
Organizers stated that the Annual Pioneer Run is a powerful reminder of the sacrifices and resilience of Sikh pioneers in Canada and serves to strengthen unity across the community.
